This is a LATE '74 260z Sep. Bought for $150

The 260Z was bought and had a L24 under the hood which I kept for a long time. I knew the engine had problems on the inside. As you can see in the 3rd picture it tossed a rod one night on the highway. After pulling the engine out I put a L28et in the car. But as the 4th picture shows that didnt last long. I attempted to run 15psi of boost. I melted 3&4 and started to damage a few other cylinders. Luckly I had extra bottom ends around. I put it back together and tuned it. The car ran off and on and I was able to get the car into the 12s with 18psi.

The early style CAS that was susceptible to heat issues failed on me and threw my timing off... Without precise timing and that much boost failure accures very fast. I shattered #6 and I didnt realize it until I had upgraded my CAS to the later style 83 ZXT ECCS one.

I had been planning my next move for several years and finally had all the parts to do it. DIESEL ... or not? Im forced to get the car running. DMV is threatening to lein my car so I need to pay everything up and my engine doesnt run

And so it sits... for now. 9-1-08

11-11-08 Im calling it quites. The LD is in my garage. I found a 325+shipping crank, but I got a really REALLY good deal on a RB25DET.

LD28 is up for sale. Ive got 2K into it and Im asking $650 for everything. I know you can get an engine for 1700 ready to run but not ready to be installed into a Z. CLICK FOR LD28 ADD
